Abstract
Introduction: Post-partum depression is classified as one of the diseases, which affect puerperas worldwide, and when it is untreated, results in negative repercussions, of mental, social and familial nature, interfering in the maternal interaction and in the child’s development. Objective: to analyze the national scientific production about post-partum depression in the familial scenario described in health publications for the last 5 years. Methodology: It is an integrative review of literature with qualitative and quantitative approach, composed of articles extracted and selected from Virtual Health Library (BVS), from 2011 until 2016 which conform to the objective of the research. Results: 10 articles were included in the sampling of the present study. They were analyzed based on the content analysis method proposed by Minayo (2008), emerging two categories: 1- Post-partum depression and mother-child relationship and 2- Post-partum depression in the familial scenario. Conclusion: From this integrative review regarding the repercussions of Post-partum depression in the familial context it was possible to expand the knowledge about the disease. It is important to highlight the necessity of developing more research about such topic in order to early diagnose and properly treat, as well as to provide training to healthcare professionals.
