Resumo

This study analyzes the role of entrepreneurship in promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), considering its economic, social, and institutional dimensions. It is based on the premise that entrepreneurship, particularly social entrepreneurship, can act as a mechanism for income generation, social inclusion, and innovation, contributing to sustainable development. Methodologically, the research adopts a qualitative and exploratory approach, based on a literature review and documentary analysis of institutional sources, such as reports from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) and SEBRAE. The findings indicate that entrepreneurship contributes to the promotion of the SDGs across multiple dimensions, particularly in creating economic opportunities and reducing inequalities. However, the results also show that this contribution is conditioned by structural factors, such as institutional environment, public policies, and regional characteristics, and is limited by the predominance of necessity-driven entrepreneurship in contexts such as Brazil. As a theoretical contribution, the study proposes an integrated approach that articulates entrepreneurship, public policies, and sustainability, advancing the understanding of the phenomenon from a systemic perspective. It concludes that entrepreneurship has significant potential to support the SDGs, but its effectiveness depends on the development of supportive ecosystems and the articulation among different social actors.
