Abstract
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) is one of the most important sexually transmitted diseases, being in most cases one of the main consequences of cervicitis. According to the degree of complication, the regime is defined as outpatient, hospital or surgical. In addition, empirical treatment, preventive and educational methods should cover not only the patient, but also any partners. This study aimed to clarify information and add to medical knowledge through recent bibliographies on the subject of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), covering its main topics such as clinical manifestations, risk factors, as well as prognostic and therapeutic approach.
