Abstract
Chemical dependency is a serious problem for both individuals and society. This research explores this issue in the light of psychoanalysis and mental health, highlighting the role of drugs in relieving anguish in the face of social pressures. The film and the book “Christiane F. 13 years old, Drugged and Prostituted” are cited as examples that portray the reality of drugs, detailing the protagonist's life in post-war Berlin. The narrative includes Christiane's childhood, marked by violence, revealing her relationship with her father. Despite several relapses throughout her life, Christiane, now aged 60, chose to share her story through an autobiography. The analysis of the aforementioned autobiographical work highlights the contemporary search of young people for escapism through drugs.
