Abstract

The high complexity in the Unified Health System - SUS refers to high-cost and high-technology procedures designed to offer the population access to specialized health services. It is organized through ordinances, which define and regulate the criteria necessary to accredit hospitals or services to offer this type of assistance. . It is essential that these services are accessible to everyone, regardless of where they live or their financial situation. One of the main challenges is ensuring that all citizens have access to health services. Therefore, a lot of discussion is needed that permeates not only academic circles and health professionals, but also reaches other areas of knowledge, and raises awareness in the state to guarantee public policies that improve the quality and provision of highly complex assistance. Therefore, states and municipalities need to invest in studying and reflecting on this topic, which is essential for us to advance in the construction of fairer, more efficient and humanized health systems.
