KNOWING HIGH COMPLEXITY AND ITS CARE DEMANDS

Abstract

The high complexity in health care involves a set of procedures that encompass high technology and high cost. For greater understanding, it is important to understand that its objective is to offer the population access to services, exams, therapies and qualified care, integrating them with three levels of health care. Therefore, among the various spaces and environments for the practice of highly complex care, we can mention intensive care units, large and complex surgical centers, which involve procedures that require cutting-edge technology and high costs; such as oncology, cardiovascular, transplants and high-risk births. We will pay attention to the area of ​​intensive care and other specialized spaces. It is concluded that the demands of increased complexity generate a great cost for the Unified Health System, therefore, a large part of the population ends up not being able to obtain such a service, even though they are already in a serious state of health. Therefore, the government needs to understand the need for a range of highly complex services, as well as providing quality services, with continuing education for teams, necessary supplies and adequate hygiene.
