Abstract
Pressure. Method: This is an integrative literature review, with a descriptive and exploratory approach, carried out in the following databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), Nursing Database (BDENF) and Scientific Electronic Online Library (SCIELO), with 7 studies selected for analysis of results. Results and Discussions: Pressure Ulcers are still considered a challenge faced by health professionals, with regard to assistance and care. The appearance of lesions in any region of the patient’s body causes pain, deformities and discomfort. Treatments for this pathology are prolonged and require specific care for successful healing. Therefore, one of the treatment techniques is the performance of debridement, which should be done when indicated for the removal of necrotic material. It was also found that the use of electrostimulation, acts in the acceleration of the healing process, reduces the affected area, width and volume, promotes anti-infectious and anti-inflammatory effect, improves the process of pain and discomfort. Briefly, electrostimulation provides a better quality of life for the patient. Conclusion: Thus, this study was carried out due to the fact that there are still several difficulties and gaps about the knowledge about the alternatives for the treatment of Pressure Ulcers. The objective of the present study was achieved, allowing to show that alternative treatment measures exist, although they must be performed according to the needs of each patient.
