Abstract

The collagen biostimulator is one of the most sought after methods to improve facial aesthetics, allowing the restoration of volumes and contours lost on the face over the years. Calcium hydroxyapatite is an injectable collagen biostimulator that stimulates endogenous collagen production by activating fibroblasts for the production of new collagen fibers. Based on the relevance of CaHA in the current aesthetic market, the objective of this work was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of collagen biostimulator, Biocrystal, in improving skin quality after subcutaneous injection. In this study, 12 women were treated using the Inverted L technique and the evaluation was performed by the patients themselves using the GAIS scale. The results showed that the vast majority of patients positively classified the improvement of skin quality (GAIS scale 2), but adverse effects were reported. Biocrystal product from Biomethyl seems to have effects on improving skin quality, but more studies are needed to prove its efficacy and safety.
