Abstract
The teaching of the history and culture of indigenous peoples still faces challenges related to teacher training, the availability of teaching materials, and the need for contextualized pedagogical practices. This study aimed to investigate how the board game Caminhos Laklãnõ can act as a pedagogical resource in teaching the history and culture of the Laklãnõ Xokleng people. The research was developed at the Padre João Stolte Basic Education School in Botuverá/SC, involving 7th-grade students and teachers from the institution. The investigation adopted a qualitative and quantitative approach, of a descriptive and participatory nature, using diagnostic and evaluative questionnaires, systematic observation, and a field diary. Initial results showed gaps in students' knowledge about the history, culture, territory, and legislation related to indigenous peoples. After the application of the game, positive results were observed regarding interest, motivation, understanding of the content, collaboration, participation, and broadening of perception about indigenous diversity. Among the teachers, there was also a favorable evaluation of the resource, although difficulties related to the availability of materials and the deepening of the theme were identified. It is concluded that the game presented possibilities as a teaching resource to bring students closer to the history and culture of the Laklãnõ Xokleng people.
