Abstract
Due to the need to improve communication and implement patient safety in surgeries, induced by the challenge of safer surgeries, a checklist was prepared by the WHO to optimize multidisciplinary communication. Where it includes patient information before anesthetic induction, confirms the patient and procedure, before the surgical incision, with the presence of all the team in the operating room and the guarantee of the entire record, before the patient leaves the operating room. This check enables interpersonal communication and optimizes the discussion of reality, given the needs of the patient with the team, according to the procedure to be performed, reviewing information regarding inputs and necessary conduct.
