Resumo

Considerada uma infecção respiratória, a COVID-19 pode levar a patologias neurológicas, incluindo encefalite, acidente vascular cerebral, encefalomielite disseminada aguda e neuropatias periféricas, como a Síndrome de Guillain-Barré. A síndrome de Guillain-Barré, conhecida também como polirradiculoneuropatia aguda, é uma doença do sistema nervoso de caráter autoimune. Sua principal manifestação é a inflamação aguda dos nervos e das raízes nervosas, atacando a bainha de mielina. Tendo em mente a relação de desordens neurológicas e a COVID-19, o médico pode adotar a melhor conduta para cada caso, sabendo que as manifestações neurológicas da COVID-19 são variadas e que os dados sobre elas continuam a evoluir conforme a pandemia progride.  (Haiyang Yu1 , Tong Sun2 and Juan Feng)
