Abstract
After the covid-19 pandemic, there was a significant increase in children’s screen time. This led to maladaptive cognitive emotion, impaired attention and increased impulsivity. This article highlights the psychological and developmental effects on post-Covid-19 children, emphasizing that it is necessary to evaluate the effects of screens on cognitive function and the brain. Our objective with this study is to analyze and expose information related to the impact of the use of new technologies on child development. It was reported that suicidal ideation was associated with abusive use more on social media specifically. However, the time spent on excessive smartphone use predicted the level of stress in users who hardly used the smartphone to expose feelings, as well as those who were involved in disclosing their emotions and problems online. Widespread abuse of the internet is often the lack of real-life social support and feelings of social isolation.
