Abstract
This study aimed to: Characterize a scientific production specialized in home visits carried out by nurses in the first week of life of the newborn. It is a descriptive, exploratory research, with a quantitative approach, in the form of integrative literature review. The following were selected as national and international databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Spanish Bibliographic Index of Health Sciences (IBECS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). A research published with 4 scientific publications, which follows the following inclusion criteria: studies published in the selected databases, in the Brazilian Portuguese language, from 2015 to 2019, available in full and in the form of original article. Data collection was carried out in February 2020. This research recorded as results: family vulnerability, professional unavailability to make a visit, failures in detecting newborn care in health care, loss of centralization of care in the baby, the assistance of the multidisciplinary team for the care of children, children and crimes that surround the child, is carried out with the care of the newborn, and the link between the Family Health Unit and the newborn that arrives at the your baby territory. The research achieved the expected results, addressing the main difficulties in carrying out home visits to the newborn in the first week of life
