Abstract
Introduction: The child’s follow-up is broad, encompassing several aspects, requiring a biopsychosocial assessment. Multiprofessional care is essential, all professionals need to be involved in health activities related to the child. In primary care, there are some professionals who perform this process, they are: nurse, doctor, dentist, nursing technician and dental assistant. It is also possible to count on a support team, in which we need: physiotherapists, nutritionists, psychologists, occupational therapists and other professionals who provide multidisciplinary care to children and their families. Objective: To characterize the multiprofessional monitoring of children in primary care, through a literature review. Methodology: Literature review research, using as a resource the full reading of publications related to the subject studied. 14 publications were part of the study, selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The publications were in the period from 2016 to 2020, in the databases: Electronic Scientific Online Library (SciELO), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and Google Scholar. Results: Upon reading, the data found were found to be interdisciplinary in the care provided to a child. The fact that the child being monitored, having access to a multidisciplinary team made all the difference in his development. Each professional has a primary role to take care of the child and his family, and this was evident during the research findings. The need to expand access to these professionals was perceived, because, in some health units, there is only the basic health team, without the other professionals to offer specialized support. Final Considerations: Therefore, the study achieved the proposed objective, characterizing the multidisciplinary care for the child, and clarifying the need to take care with new perspectives and knowledge, always waiting for other professionals, sharing the care and providing prevention and health promotion.
